Cedar Flux Community

Our Mission: Care with Dignity

We believe that growing older should never mean losing independence or personal choice. Cedar Flux was founded to create a different kind of care community—one that adapts to residents rather than expecting them to adapt to us.

How Cedar Flux Began

Cedar Flux opened in Phuket in 2019 after our founders spent several years working in traditional care settings throughout Thailand and recognized a common pattern: many facilities prioritize efficiency and structure over the individual preferences of residents. Families often felt they had to choose between comprehensive care and preserving their loved one's sense of autonomy.

We set out to create something different. A place where residents could maintain control over their daily routines, where staff would be trained to provide support without taking over, and where families could remain involved without feeling they were intruding. The result is a community where care levels adjust to individual needs rather than fitting everyone into predetermined programs.

Our name reflects the natural environment of Phuket and the values we want to embody. Cedar trees are known for strength and longevity. Flux represents adaptability and movement. Together, they capture our approach: providing strong, steady support while remaining flexible enough to accommodate changing needs and personal preferences.

Today, Cedar Flux serves residents from across Thailand and international families who have relocated to Phuket. Our team includes nurses, mobility specialists, social coordinators, and support staff who share a common understanding that good care means listening first and acting second. We review our approach regularly based on feedback from residents and families, always looking for ways to better honor the dignity and independence of the people we serve.

Resident needs are reviewed monthly, with input from the individual, family members, and care staff to ensure support levels remain appropriate.

Open Communication

Families receive regular updates and have direct access to staff. We encourage open discussion about concerns and welcome feedback on our practices.

What Guides Our Approach

Respect for Individual Autonomy

Residents maintain control over daily decisions including when to wake, what to eat, and how to spend their time. Our role is to provide support when requested, not to impose routines that prioritize staff convenience over resident preference.

Adaptable Care Levels

Needs change over time. We recognize this and adjust support accordingly, whether that means stepping in with more assistance during recovery from illness or stepping back as mobility improves following therapy.

Partnership with Families

Family members know their loved ones better than we do. We see families as partners in care, not visitors to be managed. Input from family helps us understand preferences, history, and what matters most to each resident.

Transparent Communication

We share information openly about services, costs, and any concerns that arise. Families should never feel uncertain about what is happening or why decisions are being made. Questions are always welcome.
